Adult Formation Committee

Oversees the work of adult Christian education and the spiritual development committee. Provides educational opportunities supporting Christian growth, formation, and ministry wiht the goal of promoting a deeper relationship with God, through Jesus Christ.

Committee on Aging

Provides educational and spiritual ministries to older adults.

Commission on Architecture and Allied Arts

Mr. Andrew Pitts, Chair

Aids in the building, improvement and repair of churches, rectories, diocesan buildings by providing assistance in planning.

Commission on Ministry

Oversees the ordination process in the diocese. The road to ordination for diaconate and priesthood includes a Nominee phase, Postulancy, Candidacy and then ordination. Each phase has its own application process.

Children’s and Youth Ministries Committee

Mrs. Sue Mason, Chair

Available to support, educate, network and consult with each parish in the area of youth.

Communications Committee

Chair - Vacant

Promotes and enhances communication between parishes and the diocese and among parishes and individuals through the diocesan newspaper, The Harvest; DioLog, the biweekly electronic newsletter; and the diocesan web site.

Community Life Committee

Mrs. Judy Gerling, Chair

Responsible for the planning and implementation of Diocesan Convention and other designated diocesan events.

Congregational Development Commission

The Very Rev. Steve Lipscomb, chair

Works under the auspices of the Council of Trustees to develop a strategy for diocesan growth. Plans and prioritizes church planting, facilitates collaborative regional explorations for growth, provides consultation and support to congregations seeking healthy development, and helps train leaders for congregational development.

Higher Education Committee

Deacon Steve Segebrecht, Chair

Supports the church's work on college campuses across the diocese.

Liturgy, Arts and Music Committee

Mr. Kent Wingerson, Chair

Supports the Bishop as chief liturgical officer; to serve the congregations through programs and resources; and to prioritize worship within the Diocese.

Outreach and Ecumenical Ministries

Deacon Allen Ohlstein, Chair

Oversees the task force on ministry with persons who have disabilities, the companion diocese committee, the Nativity Network, evangelism, ecumenical ministries, human relations committee and peace and justice committee. Promotes mission work and experiences.

Stewardship and Planned Giving Committee

Mr. Rob Telthorst, Chair

Advises the bishop and the director of stewardship and development on policies and needs of the dioces.

Young Adult Committee

The Rev. Craig Loya and the Rev. Susan Terry, co-chairs

Reaches out to young adults and invites them into the Body of Christ.

Council of Trustees Committees

Administration and Personnel Committee

Mr. L. Franklin Taylor, Chair

Develops and recommends personnel policies and procedures to Council. Recommends insurance coverage, retirement plans, sabbatical leave and other leaves of absence. Conduct or coordinate pay and benefit surveys as needed to keep in proper relationship with competitive employers.

Ecclesiastical Relations Committee

The Rev. Ron Peak, Chair

Supports the episcopate; provides guidance in the governance of the diocese and develops policy, strategy and programs.

Finance Committee

Mr. Robert Skaggs, Chair

Develops and recommends diocesan budgets to the Council of Trustees, oversees parish accounting procedures and assigned funds, reviews spending requests and recommends expenditures to the Council of Trustees. Oversees property and liability insurance coverage for adequacy for the diocese and parishes.
