Deputies from the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas
Lay deputies
Larry Bingham - Bingham is chair of the Kansas deputation at his fifth General Convention. He is a member of the Social and Urban Affairs Committee. Bingham is an attorney practicing in Kansas City and is a member of St. Michael’s, Mission.
Sarah Knoll-Williams - Knoll-Williams is the youngest Kansas deputy at age 24, but she’s no rookie; this will be her third General Convention. Knoll-Williams is a seminary student at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, Calif., and is pursuing ordination to the priesthood in this diocese. She serves as a member of the Committee on the Consecration of Bishops.
She is a member of St. Margaret’s, Lawrence.
Frank Connizzo - Connizzo has the longest General Convention tenure among the Kansas deputation, with Columbus being his sixth term. He serves as a member of the Standing Commission on the Church in Small Communities.
Connizzo is retired as an insurance agent and as diocesan planned giving officer. He is a member of St. Paul’s, Manhattan.
Mike Morrow - This will be Morrow’s second term as a deputy. He is a member
of the Standing Commission on Ecumenical Relations and will track resolutions affecting the Constitution and Canons.
Morrow is an attorney working for the United States District Court for the District of Kansas and is a member of St. John’s, Wichita.
Clergy deputies
The Rev. Jo Ann Ford - This is Ford’s third term as a deputy. She serves on the Joint Committee on Program, Budget and Finance.
Ford is on sabbatical from her position as canon to the ordinary to the diocese and assists at Grace Church, Ottawa.
The Rev. Rob Lord - This will be Lord’s fifth General Convention, twice elected from the Diocese of Colorado and three times from Kansas. He is a member of the Standing Commission on World Mission. He recently announced that he will be leaving his post as rector of St. Michael’s, Mission, on Aug. 15.
The Rev. C.P. "Sam" Criss- Columbus will mark Criss’ fifth General Convention, with service stretching back to 1973. He is a member of the
Social and Urban Affairs Committee and also will track legislation affecting liturgy or Prayer Book revisions.
He is a retired priest who assists at St. James’, Wichita.
The Rev. Matt Cobb - Cobb was elected as an alternate but has moved up to deputy as health issues prevented others from serving. A former college chaplain, Cobb is a chaplain at Mercy Medical Center in Manhattan.
Alternates
Tom Gossen - Gossen will be attending his fourth General Convention, this time as first alternate. He previously has been a deputy three times. He also is an elected member of Executive Council, the body that governs the Episcopal Church between General Conventions. He has been tabbed to be a legislative aide for the Stewardship Committee.
Gossen is executive director of the Episcopal Network for Stewardship and is a member of St. James’, Wichita.
The Rev. Barbara Bloxsom - This will be Bloxsom's first Convention, and she will monitor legislation relating to Title III, the canons on ordained ministry. She is rector of the Church of the Epiphany in Sedan.
Note: Deputies who will be checking e-mail during General Convention say they may not be able to reply to inquiries right away, given the press of legislative and committee work.
