New members join diocesan staff Two new people have been added to the diocesan staff to fill vacancies.
Jenny Kuner is the new administrative assistant to Canon to the Ordinary Mary Siegmund. She is responsible for coordinating diocesan convention and meetings of the Council of Trustees, as well as overseeing the Bethany Place facilities. She also will provide basic administrative services to the canon. She has previous experience working for the Indian Nations Presbytery, an Oklahoma-based governing body within the Presbyterian Church (USA). She is a member of First Presbyterian Church, where her husband Mike is the interim pastor, and is alto soloist in the choir. She also sings with the Topeka Festival Singers. A native of Topeka, Kuner has a degree in vocal music from Bethany College in Lindsborg. The couple has two teenaged daughters.
Karen Clowers will staff the front reception desk through the end of October, when she will resume her position with the Kansas Senate. Until then Clowers will manage diocesan databases and provide general staff support for mailings and major events. She also serves as receptionist and is the first voice most callers to the diocesan office will hear on the telephone. She is a member of St. David’s, Topeka, where she is a lector, Eucharistic minister and member of the altar guild and choir. She is retired from a career as a research geologist for the Kansas Department of Transportation. She is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She and her husband Jim have four children and three grandchildren. |
