The Rev. Susan Sawyer (Mother Susan), was ordained in the Diocese of Massachusetts on June 1, 1985. She attended Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Mass. and graduated with an M.DIV and special competency in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Theology. She first served St. John's Episcopal Church in Northampton, Mass. from 1985-1989. She was Curate and Episcopal Chaplain to Smith College. Mother Susan was called to St. Paul's Church, Manhattan, Ks. in 1989 as Associate Rector and Episcopal Chaplain to Kansas State University. She then was called to be the American Baptist Campus Minister at K-State from 1991-1993, and served as a Supply Priest for the Diocese of Kansas. In 1992, she was called to be Rector of St. Paul's Church, Clay Center. She also served as Executive Director for Marshall Co. CASA from 1994-1997. Mother Susan married David in 1990 - they live with Diamond, Grey, and Jupiter (their dog and 2 cats).
